Nick Yankovic, as the father of one of entertainment’s favorites known as “Weird Al” Yankovic, worked nervously to mold one of entertainment’s most adored figures. While people are aware of the positive impact of Nick on his son’s success more about it and Nick himself have been less known to the public.

Early Life

Nick Yankovic comes from Yugoslav immigrant parents who moved to the United States in search of better life. Having been raised in the Los Angeles area, in the middle of the twentieth century, Nick mastered the principal Rules for the American middle class: work and do not give up.

He got from his parent’s good work ethic and the value of education which he also copied to his own son. Nick’s resolutions for youth included interest in various form of trades and was specifically inclined towards construction and engineering.

These followed him in his personal as well as professional life, and the way he encouraged his son to work through his own interests on the path to becoming an architect. Nevertheless, thus had many obstacles which are usual for immigrants’ families. But all the time, Nick had a good attitude toward the USA and a desire to succeed.

Career

Nick established himself well in that line and became a professional building inspector in the Lynwood region in California. His work demanded accuracy, patience, exactness, and technical expertise which would later help him while supporting a gifted child in art.

While working as a building inspector, he gained a reputation for professionalism well as punctuality and honesty, making him the go to man for any construction project within his regions. Nick chose his career strategic so that he got to support his family microbiologically.

At the same time being around for his child. He made an opportunity to share lessons in responsibility, the job done right the first time, taking pride in workmanship which was applied in the later years of “Weird Al’s” techniques in mastering the parodies.

Spouse: Mary Yankovic

Nick married Mary Yankovic which formed the right environment to bring up one of music’s most unique talents. Mary, who also had Yugoslav background as Nick, together with her husband provided home setting or environment that was so encouraging to pursue education as well as express their talent in arts.

Nick and Mary decided on several things that influenced their son’s future; amongst them being purchasing the first accordion for their son. This decision which may have been perceived by other parents as rather strange showed that for the parents of the young talent they are willing to back whichever interest their child has as absurd as that might sound.

Mr. And Mrs. Thompson had a great deal of love and respect for each other especially on issues to do with parenting. They developed a setting under which admittedly the children could be creative, but in the same breath, expected them to work hard and make good grades as well.
