Yvette Crichton is a Jamaican born woman who grew up amidst the bright Caribbean culture and their wonderful folklore. Living in the island, she learned different aural culture influences ranging from the music of reggae to the flavor of the foods in Jamaica.
Yvette’s childhood was a concern family and an enormous sense of people in her behind. Like many Jamaican families her own, education, work, and perseverance were valued greatly. These principles she said she was brought up on and they are the principles that shaped her character throughout her formative years and into the later years.
Yvette often contemplated going further than the coast of Jamaica, which is something that almost every young woman wants. She was always inquisitive, fresh and weedy to get the best in life and new opportunities. This adventurous spirit later saw her make probably one of the biggest decisions in her life – moving to America.
Career
Despite there being little common knowledge about Crichton’s career, she has been multi-faceted in her life. As with many early woman immigrants, Yvette may well have had to take a variety of occupations to simply stay afloat in her new country.
The jobs she may have had may well have included anything from waiting on tables or staff receptionists and so forth, every position adding value to her. However, by far the most important ‘job’ for Yvette could have been that of a mother. It takes something special, and determination to raise a child who would grow up to be famous.
Children: Makeda Jahnesta
Yvette Crichton found new meaning and new purpose in life when she delivered a baby daughter Makeda Jahnesta. This young lady who later would come to be famously known in the world as Yolanda Adams would later transform into a Grammy Award winner in gospel music; an actress and radio host.
But to Yvette she was first of all her adored daughter as the further events proved. Growing up with Makeda in Houston, Texas. Yvette had to ensure that she offered her daughter the best home ever. Yvette took Makeda to all church activities also in the church choir which set the foundation of Makeda’s future gospel musical career.
Though we may never directly know of Yvette Crichton independently of her influence on the world through her daughter. The story further brings to light, that the input of a mother can shape or determine the life of a child in every way.
