Despite Johnny’s mental illness, he demonstrates remarkable talents in math. He completes his PhD in math at Rutgers University. However, he is never well enough to live on his own. We do not have any information about his early life and education. He is famous for being the son of an American mathematician. Here we will discuss his father’s successful career.

John Nash was an American mathematician. He is one of the richest celebrities in America. He had a net worth of $1.5 million at the time of his death. John Nash was born in Bluefield, West Virginia in June 1928 and passed away in May 2015.

He made significant contributions to fields including game theory, the study of partial differential equations, and differential geometry. His work provided many insights into the concepts of chance as well as decision-making. The field of economics has widely used Nash’s theories.

He was a Senior Research Mathematician at Princeton University and shared the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences in 1994. He also shared the Abel Prize in 2015, making him the only person to win both prizes. Nash developed mental illness and spent years at psychiatric hospitals due to paranoid schizophrenia. He was able to return to his academic work and was the subject and the film titled A Beautiful Mind. John Nash passed away on May 23, 2015, at 86 years old in a car crash.

John Charles Martin Nash’s mother Alicia Larde

Alicia Larde was a Salvadoran-American physicist. She was a mental health care advocate, who gave up her professional aspirations to support her husband and son, who were both diagnosed with schizophrenia. After graduating from MII, Nash went to work for the Brookhaven Nuclear Development Corporation as a lab physicist.

In the early 1960s, she held a position as an aerospace engineer at RCA but got laid off. She then worked for years at Con Edison as a system programmer. Alicia also worked for the New Jersey Transit system as a computer programmer and data analyst. She was a member of numerous women’s engineering societies.

Nash became a spokesperson for schizophrenia and mental illness. Brain & Behavior Research gave her the Luminary Award in 2005. She traveled around the country to discuss rights for those with mental illness, and in 2009 she met with New Jersey state lawmakers to discuss how to improve that state’s mental health care system.  The University of Texas honored John and Alicia Nash Conference for her support of those with mental illness, where she delivered the keynote address.
